Thomas Flyer Week July 24-30, 2023. 115th Anniversary Celebration!

The week of July 24 - July 30, 2023 has been designated "Thomas Flyer Week in Buffalo" to commemorate the 115th Anniversary of the 1908 NY to Paris Automobile Race. The winner of the race was the United States entry, the Buffalo built Thomas Flyer, driven by George Schuster.

The actual Flyer has been restored and is in the National Automobile Museum in Reno Nevada. The car is coming to Buffalo for this celebration, and will be on display at the Buffalo Transportation Museum for May through July 2023.

As part of this celebration, other surviving Thomas Flyer automobile owners are being invited to bring their cars to Buffalo to participate in this week-long event. They will be coming from as far as Australia to join in this "Once in a Lifetime" gathering. Planned Thomas auto tours include trips across WNY, a Re-Certification event at the original Thomas Factory on 1200 Niagara Street and 115th Anniversary special event at the Museum. Stay tuned for further details!
